Hey @Stephen Burmann, some questions on this if you dont mind assisting as we have considered this but there is some complexity, primarily due to the fact that we deduct the credit at the time of booking, so recurring bookings aren’t possible unless we change the way we deduct credits.

    • What would you expect happens to recurring bookings in the following scenarios:

      • When the membership is cancelled

      • When the membership is overdue

      • When the membership is paused

Essentially for recurring bookings I dont think we would be able to deduct credits in advance as they wouldn’t have enough to complete all future bookings. So we would need to adapt it to charge the credit later which would raise the questions”

    • If the user doesn’t have enough credits to complete the booking what should be done?

Sorry for the all the questions but would be great to understand the whole scope of things,

    Kind regards,

    Isaac

Ah, yeah. I see how that might become an issue.
Maybe there could be an option to toggle whether or not credits will be applied (or required) at the time of booking.
When a membership is cancelled, if payments lapse, or if membership is paused, I imagine it would be easiest to leave the appointments on the calendar and just show whether or not a payment can be, or has been applied.

For a little context: we run a group personal training session that would be easiest to manage as a class on the calendar rather than an appointment. Clients are not able to reserve these sessions themselves, because all workouts are programmed 4-6 weeks in advance. The trainer creates the initial booking schedule to correspond with the training calendar.

We also offer more traditional group exercise classes where we allow clients to reserve their own spots. For those classes, it makes more sense to ensure payments are applied in advance. This is where the ability to specify rules for each class would be beneficial. Some classes require payment, while others do not.

Our SOP for booked appointments/classes is to look at the calendar about 24hrs in advance. We do this to confirm the schedule for the following day, and ensure everyone has credits available for use. We apply payments at this time, and renew packages if needed.

Hey @Stephen Burmann that makes sense than you.

I think actually what you need is something already on our list, you just need the ability to create an appointment with a capacity of more than one.

As you can already making recurring bookings with appointments and the system already tracks who’s paid/not paid, you just need this to be expanded to handle multiple participants per appointment.

I’ve merged your suggesting with this post and updated the documentation to reflect I think what you need.

Hey Isaac! Is allowing appointments with multiple participants still a feature you guys are considering? We would love to have the ability to schedule overlapping appointments with an open window of availability. Would love to answer any questions that might help in the development of this feature!

Hey @Gabriel Rohleder yes it’s still a live request and something we are open to doing. It just hasn’t gotten the popularity required to get it done.

Most clubs have either been creating multiple facilities to link with their appointments to allow overlapping bookings, or adding class slots to the calendar.

What is your use case, is it for open gym or something else?
