New Payment Method: Direct Debit

🚨 This new feature is only accessible to clubs that have transitioned from their legacy Stripe account to our platform’s account. All club owners needing to transfer will have already received an email with step-by-step instructions on how to make this switch— if you have not yet completed this, follow the steps in this article

At Gymflow, we're all about giving your members more ways to pay — on their terms. To support that, we’ve just rolled out a much-requested payment option: Direct Debit.

In addition to card payments and digital wallets, members can now set up Direct Debit as their payment method. That means payments can be pulled directly from their bank account — no card needed.

Why This Matters:

No card required – Ideal for members who don’t use cards or want to avoid issues like expired, blocked, or stolen cards

Reliable & secure – Bank-grade security and fewer payment interruptions

Lower fees – Save on transaction costs compared to card payments:

  • USA: 1% + $0.10 (vs. 2.9% + $0.30 for cards)

  • Europe & UK: 1.25% + £0.20 (vs. 1.5% + £0.20 for cards)

  • Australia: 1% + $0.30 (vs. 1.7% + $0.30 for cards)

Supported Bank Payment Methods (by region):

  • 🇺🇸 USA – ACH Payments

  • 🇬🇧 UK – BACs Direct Debits

  • 🇪🇺 Europe – SEPA Direct Debits

  • 🇦🇺 Australia – BECs Direct Debits

⚠️ Direct Debit payments are off by default. If you want to use this payment method, you need to turn it on by going to Settings > Payment Methods > Bank Debits

  1. Currently, members can use Direct Debit only for recurring subscriptions.

  2. Staff can use it for any type of payment.

  3. Direct Debit is a delayed payment method — it can take several days to process. When a payment is made via Direct Debit, it will appear with a "Processing" status during that time. If the payment is successful, the status will then update to "Paid".
